Realtek audio line output to optical input

Hello, I have a Z87-G43 motherboard which I want to connect to my RX V475 receiver. I bought on of these

but my receiver isn't getting any audio (even though the realtek driver shows sound being sent out).

How do I connect these two devices to get 5.1 sound? Thanks.

Where is the TOSLINK digital output source?

All I see are analog, 3.5mm audio sources.

Pretty sure you need a sound card with the appropriate TOSLINK output, then have to setup that properly in software (including video players likely).

Thanks for your help. I suppose I need to get a sound card then. I picked up a Xonar DG but it doesn't pass through 5.1 audio (only 2.1 pcm). Any recommendations?
