I recently purchased a Sony 42" Lcd KF42WE610 from Circuit
City....great TV if only it worked properly......hence Im returning it
back whence it came.

Can any one recommend a similar quality tv - pref LCD projection, but
one that doesnt have as many problems surrounding it?

Im after approx 42", HD 1028, quality picture etc / also how long
expected life of bulb?

Price upto $3400 with extended warrantee.....

Also, any recommendations on online sellers....bestbuyplasma look good
on price for instance, but whats their repuation like?

many thanks guys

I am really happy with my Panasonic PT40LC12 (40 inch) TV. Now the place I
bought it (BestBuy) is another story! I use it with an over-the-air antenna
for digital/HDTV and with a Dishnetwork 6000U HD satellite receiver.
DiscoveryHD is flat beautiful as is CBS shows such as CSI.

The manual says ~5000 hours and that is about right. My bulb lasted 366
days -- 17+ hours past the factory warranty and I was informed BestBuy now
(not yesterday, but at this morning's meeting) considers it a consumable
and not covered under their extended warranty plan. Their tech argued for
me enough the store manager said they would replace it this time only (I
guess since his department manager insisted it was covered when I bought
it). Also, the local Panasonic service center is checking into it to since
it was so close to the deadline.

I paid just under $2400 but they are going for $2000-2200 now online. The 4
yr extended warranty was another $300 but according to the tech the only
thing that goes bad is the bulb. 😉

If you think the only thing that can go wrong with it is the bulb, the tech
is smoking some good stuff and sharing it with you.

What is wrong with it? Most likely you just got a bum piece. It happens.

We've had the Sony Grand Wega since November. Paid 2300.00 from a local
store. Flawless performance.

SD not as bad as I thought it would be; HD outstanding and well as DVD's. We
have both cable and C-band. Quality of the picture on C-band is unbelievable
given our 1984 vintage hardware.

7 Pixels out when we turned the TV on. None are visible from a foot or so
away. No additonal ones have died.

We called Sony customer service at the time of our purchase to ask some
general questions about DVI; rep we spoke to was helpful and courteous.

I guess you can tell we love the set.
