Receiver speaker issue

I have an Integra DTR 5.2 receiver that won't keep the speaker settings. Every time I turn receiver off, when I turn on again, I have to reset each speaker volume in the speaker config. The manual doesn't address this issue other than telling me to set speaker volume in config. Doesn't retain the settings. Any suggestions? Thanks

has this recently happened or has it always been like this ?
If it has just started to happen then there is likely to be a battery on the circuit board that needs replacing.

Started happening recently, thanks for reply. Do you know if this battery is easily replaced or if it needs to be brought to a repair place to have it changed? Thanks.

You should open it up and have a look, I am not familiar with that receiver but it will probably be a button cell and normally can be replaced quite easily.

Does the receiver lose preset radio stations too,
A bad backup battery or capacitor could be the cause. Bad processor chip could cause this too, Call Onkyo and they will help you.
