Situation:

I'm trying to purchase a mini amplifier (has to be small to fit) to increase the volume sent to a PYLE PSP8 trumpet speaker mounted in the hood of my car. It is rated at 15w normal, 25 watts max.

Question:

I would prefer to find a 3.5mm aux input / 3.5mm aux output chip.

I found this chip which is rated 6-25v.

Will hooking it up to my cigarette lighter (12v) be enough power to deliver power to the trumpet speaker and make it sound loud enough ? Does this chip need more power? is constant 25w too much for the speaker, should I keep it at 15w? If I turn the potentiometer to max while hooked up to 12v, will it blow the speaker?

The volume output I am expecting is similar to what is in this video:

Solution
With a 12v input the amp board should do about 15-20 watts in mono into that 8 ohm speaker. A 4 ohm speaker would increase the available power..
Should be fine with the speaker. If you turn the pot all the way up it might damage the speaker if you use it as a siren rather than a horn.
