Hello, guys m not too much into the tech kinda guy. but i have a question. i have a gaming laptop but the refresh rate of my laptop is only 60Hz. now the question is that if i connect my laptop with a lcd monitor capable of 144Hz or something with HDMI cable as my laptop doesnt have DVI port, will i be able to play the game at 144Hz or will it be capped on the same fps which is 60 ... please let me know. cz if it wont run in 144Hz, no use buying new lcd monitor. What is the possibility by which i can play game at 144 Hz or even stale 100FPS or something..

depends on what your laptop support.
most probably 1080p@144Hz wouldn't be a problem.
keep in mind that Hz is not FPS. if your laptop is not able to do much more than 60FPS, there will be no benefit of 144Hz.

And model name of the laptop?
Generally - with Display Port connection there wouldn't be any problems with high refresh modes.
With HDMI - most likely you'll be limited to 60Hz operation.
