Solved! Repairing a Mac Book Pro

Okay so this was handed down to me by my aunties friend. Was a bit light so opened it up and saw this.

Most things were out of it but managed to put things in like the ram and cd reader. I think all I need is a new hdd and a battery. Can someone please confirm ? Never worked on a laptop or even a Apple product so a bit stuck.

Yes, you will need a HDD and Battery. Just make sure to get an OSX install disk aswell, unless you have another mac that you can get a version off the app store.

I don’t have a os disk and not 100% sure if the disk drive will work. Can I not get it online like windows ? Can u link me a os cd then from amazon uk?

After you replace all the parts, it should automatically go into recovery mode. Make sure you have an internet connection as the system will download the OS to your machine. No CD needed.

If it doesn't go into recovery mode automatically, power off the MacBook, then power it on holding the command+R keys and you should get to recovery mode and go from there.
