replacement (2nd) batter or external power pack?

I am wondering if I am better off with a 2nd backup battery for my laptop or an external power pack (like 23000mah+) to power my laptop on the road.

Also - could I power my laptop and recharge from my 12v batteries (RV) instead of going dc to ac to dc via an inverter? seems illogical! or know a good 'electronics' forum for dc power questions

Hi,

I would actually go for another battery pack instead of charging it off with a external power pack which might just lead into more trouble in the long run. You can just always shut down your laptop when it's about to loose it's charge and replace it with another battery pack that would be more safe.
