My problem is similar to the problem posted by mauimills in April 2013. I purchased a replacement battery for my satellite L775D since the original battery will not hold a charge. The laptop will not boot when the new battery is inserted. When attempting to charge the orange battery light blinks. The laptop will boot on AC power only as well as when the old battery is inserted. If the new battery is inserted after the laptop is booted on AC power only the laptop shuts down. I checked the AC adapter and it is the correct wattage. I have also tried a power reset as well as uninstalling the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery.

Any ideas?

Thanks for your reply. The battery was purchased from Amazon and is a Toshiba replacement. Specs on the battery match the original battery exactly.
