Replacing Status Light LED's

I wanna know if you can replace leds on status lights like the lights in the link. I have a laptop and I want to put in some white leds where the old ones are.

You can, if you've the tools, and you can find the parts. Those LEDs are pretty darn small.

or you could try opening your case and applying some coats of white-out...

Generally the LEDs are contained on separate daughterboards, due to the way the chassis are designed. The motherboard is usually very low inside the case, which is inconvenient placing for LEDs that are on top of the case. There's little danger, here.

Laptop components are generally SMT. You will not find SMT soldering equipment down at your local Rat Shack.

My advice - live with the original LED colors.

meh...the led SMT components are generally large enough that you can solder them with a very small tipped soldering iron
