[citation][nom]eddieroolz[/nom]Well, the Cinema Display does look pretty good, I must admit.[/citation]

Yes but the ACD is a 2560x1440 panel, the tv will most likely be 1080p

[citation][nom]whimseh[/nom]"Apple iTV Looks Like Cinema Display, Only Bigger"...GEE, REALLY? I would have NEVER guessed![/citation]

That's what I was thinking since this was obviously the direction Apple should have taken right after their Cinema displays got to 30" and large flat panel displays started becoming popular, then after bluray, then during the smart-tv push.. but it is still not official.

Also.. 'clams'?! proofread these non-news articles at least please!!

Still waiting for confirmation that iOS apps and games will also be supported and if Apple is going to finally give Siri an avatar to go along with her voice and eyes. It would be fully intense creepy to have the little voice in your phone exist on both the phone AND your TV AND be able to see you and follow you around the room.

I would try the new apple tv if the price is right; definitely not an itv. Apple has software experience, but buying an expensive showpiece tv from a manufacturer with zero experience in this area is a big no no.

Kinda like buying a cell phone from a computer company with no phone experience? Who would have ever done that...

you sure? Apple seems to be the the pushing force lately to up the resolution and screen quality.

Hope Apple will go straight to 4K resolution (HDTV x4: 3840x2160) with some upscaling capabilities.Being (almost) first one at 4K can for sure justify some high-end pricing...

[citation][nom]back_by_demand[/nom]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ItvWhat the frick? Stop calling it ITV, they got to keep the iPhone name after being told to get bent because everyone called it the iPhone anyway - brand theft, plain and simple[/citation]

I'm gonna be pissed if they try to come to the UK with that name. It's not that I really care for ITV, but they owned the name first damnit, and for years at that. I thought they already warned Apple not to go down that road, too?

I guess everyone is going to call Apple's latest baby the iTV regardless. *sigh*

If they use the same panels as the iPad they could get a true 4K screen in less that 20", but seeing as they buy those panels from Samsung and they are more established in the TV market you can guarantee if Apple plan to do this Samsung will flood the market with 4K TVs as well at cheaper price points.

Why would you need to hook up your PC/MAC? TV's are PC's now... so it will be simply a oversized imac with a TV card.

They will have to get rid of the iTV name, When they stole the Apple name, the Beatles Apple company decided not to fight it as it would cost to much. However the ITV name belongs to a very big media company and I imagine the lawyers are already salivating at the bit at the prospect of suing them.
