This is more for emerging markets where people can't afford iPhones.
RIM is posed to take tens of millions of customers in countries that are only starting to show a strong middle class (India and China) and where iPhones are either non-existent or way too expensive still.

I wonder if this phone has the same problems as the prevoius curve - once you set the call volume to high you get distorted and crackling sound during calls.
if you can get one for free then it may actually be a good deal.
This is actually a good plan to sell a lot of cellphones in developing countries. They will be gaining worldwide market share this way and have higher revenues while they're working on releasing BB 10 which looks awesome IMO. Anyhow, cant wait to get my BB 10 phone! 😀
