Roboscan Free Update

A friend installed Roboscan Free a week ago. I told him that it hasn't been updated since 2013, but he said the virus definitions are still being updated as of 9/3/15. Is he safe using that program if the definitions are being updated ?

Should be ok if they keey the definition updated. but there a lot of free one out there, why roboscan.

Not sure what version of windows he's using because he repairs the machines and only uses some off line or for certain programs, But I believe it's a P4, 3 GB of RAM and Roboscan was light and never slowed the system down.
