Running two separate audio files from 1pc

Hi guys,
I have two different sets of speakers in two different rooms patched with XLRs, playing music from 2 individual devices (PC 1000 RMKII). I need better access to the content played which brings me to this question: Is it possible to use 1 desktop computer for both rooms - playing a different playlist in each room, even if using 2 different players (lets say 1 room plays from spotify, the other from itunes but both running on the same PC). Is this achievable? Do I need an extra soundcard, adaptors, a specific software?

You can try using the mobo audio for one output and a soundcard for the other.
One of these should allow you to route audio from different programs to different outputs.
