Solved! Sager Laptops

Hey guys,

I was wondering how Sager laptops are as of today? I've heard them get a lot of crap in the past lot of 2007 posts, but then 2009 posts people are saying they are pretty nice.

I'm still torn about whether I should get one or not? I was thinking of getting an NP8690, but I'm not sure. It looks pretty good. Their cooling system is supposed to be great. I saw vid on youtube with one of their fans being broken, but people in the comments were saying that theirs is perfect so that Sager is definitely defective.

If I do get this laptop, I'm mainly trying to figure out which Processor I should get. Any ideas?

What will you be using your laptop for? That will influence which processor that will best fit your needs.

Gaming, gaming, and more gaming :]

Of course I want to be able to use it for other things, but I know if I want to game all the other things will work easily.

I want to be able to game well, but not spend too much on the CPU. Just not sure which one I should get. My Core 2 Duo 2.5 ghz card was fine in my alienware m15x (until my graphics card broke which is why I am buying a new laptop because alienware doesn't make the parts for their old laptops anymore....lol) So GPU: 8800m GTX with Core 2 Duo T9300 (2.5ghz) worked fine together.

So I guess what CPU would work similarly with a ATI Radeon 5870? If there is a way to put them in comparison.

One of my cousins was saying it might be nice to get the cheapest of the highest generation, the i7's, but then again do I really need that much power? But also this GPU needs more power I guess since it is also a generation up. The first CPU with QM can get that special 4gb memory, so I dunno if that is worth it or not?

Hi there,

An i5 processor would probably be fine for your gaming needs. However, for powering gaming, I recommend you get a fast processor speed. Check out the guide on processor speeds and RAM on PC Scout. It recommends 2.8 GHz plus for power gaming: http/www.microsoft.com/Windows/pc-scout/laptop-speed-facts.aspx.

for gaming, i would recommend the 740QM (or any i7 except the 620M), its a quad core, and it should be fine for gaming, the i5 is mainstream and not designed for gaming

I know Sager has been around for quite some time now however I also import rebranded clevos and am a new business that is trying to get my product to the market!
