Samsing KS700 ethernet and Sky Q issue

Hi. have a new sky q router (but not q box) so we can use fibre broadband. Samsung (UE55 KS7000) connects s fine by wifi but TV does not recognise that an ethernet cable is plugged in so won't let me into the "Wired Connection" menu. Cable connected fine and port from router flashes away when plugged in. Any tips - not sure if Sky or Samsung issue. Have tried unpluging etc.

Just to make sure, when you swapped from WiFi to Ethernet, did you change the connection settings in the network menu of the TV? There is a wizard that should automatically detect your connection. Best bet is do it manually. Choose Ethernet, or wired, then let the TV fill out the address details automatically.

Thanks. The problem is the TV wizard isn’t recognising that a connection is in place. It says “insert a network cable into the TV” and then returns to main menu. Maybe a faulty cable but as it runs through the house to the router I hope not! Would this cause the TV not to recognise it? Thanks
