My new Samsung 7 Chronos' screen response is really odd. It 'jumps' slightly instead of scrolling; When editing in an Illustrator-like programs (e.g. Adobe Fireworks), it takes 3 - 5 secs to respond to some selects; when it does pick up the menu windows seem to refresh; it takes 2 or three careful clicks to pick up an object to move it. It's an i7, 8 Gb and my i3, 6 Gb old HP laptop seems to respond much more smoothly. Can anyone help me understand what's going on?

Solution
Sounds as though the laptop may be overheating - is it being used on a flat, hard surface to allow airflow through the bottom vents?
Another possibility may be that ram is not functioning properly, running Memtest86 for a few passes will let you know the health of the ram
