Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 cant detect wifi

My router just got configured with a new password for it's wifi and my tablet cant seem to detect it, even if it was only a few feet away and I've read this solution about getting disconnected after you change the password and have to log-in with the new one, but it doesnt work because my tablet couldnt detect the wifi. Help? Thanks in advance. peace yo.

Go into settings>WiFi and tell it to forget the AP. It should then allow you to add it again with the new password.
