Hi, I had majr issues with this Samsung so I decided to do a clean install. I formatted the drive, installed an image of a GPT for UEFI partition structure. I then prepared a USB stick with a ISO of Win 10. I tried to install the ISO several times but it locked up several times during the install. (One time I successfully installed a Win 10 ISO with a legal Product Code but it gave this message in the lower right hand corner that it was a demo version so I tried again with a different ISO)

After several unsuccessful tries it started crashing into this blue screen. It says: RECOVERY Your PC/Device needs to be repaired. A required device isn't present or can't be accessed. Error Code:0xc0000225 I can't get into BIOS or anything else. None of the Function Keys do what they are supposed to.

At the moment, I'm trying to boot of of a WinPE stick. Normally F10 would do the trick, but not now.

Anybody got any ideas? Thanks, Jim

Hi,

I would suggest creating a new Windows 10 bootable USB or disc using Media Creation Tool.

Here's how to create a bootable Windows 10:

And here's a quick guide on how to completely install Windows 10:

If the same problem will persist I would consider trying a different HDD with your laptop and install Windows again and see if it will work or not because if it does that means your old HDD is faulty already.

Hi, I finally got back to work on this machine and can report progress. I was able to change out the hard drive and install Windows 7 and it boots quickly. The only problem now is that I can't get into the bios. None of the F keys do anything except take you to the boot manager. I woulde like to be able to boot from a WinPE USB drive and I can't. Where should I go from here? Thanks, Jim

I finally lost my patience and stopped the process. I then had access to the new bios but it wouldn't boot into Windows 7. I could then boot from the USB drive so I re-installed Windows 7 to the hard drive from the USB. Everything is working fine now. And I just acquired another laptop with the exact same symptom so at least now I know what to do.
