Samsung NP-R730 boots with test patterns on screen ?

Does someone now what is happening here ?? Suddently one day it just booted with test pattern on the screen, and i can't get away from it.

Tried to press F2, F8, F10, F12 an so on at start up.... but nothings helps.... can't open BIOS setup either....

Anyway to to a hard reset ? Or flash BIOS ?

Any suggestions are welcome, thank you.

You can attempt a reset although I'm thinking more along the lines of loose or broken graphics cable. To reset the laptop, unplug the AC adapter from the laptop, remove the battery. With laptop unplugged and battery removed, press and hold the power button for 30 seconds - plug battery and AC adapter back in, press power.

Okay, checked cable and so. Nothing to see.

This is really weird. Never seen this kind of stuff before.

Did have a look around the PCB, and found some stuff around the the keyboard controller "U506" and some burned stuff around "U512" i don't know what U512 is.... but maybe this is what causing the error screen....

That LOOKS like liquid/water CORROSION...

Get a rubber (end of pencil etc) and gently try and rub it off...

Then try again...

If not it may be new motherboard time..

yeah.... my first thought aswell.... damn kids

Tried to clean it with isopropyl alcohol, abut no change. So yeah, seems like new MB unfortunately
