Samsung Smart Tv Wired

Hello everyone,

I’m having some trouble with my Samsung smart tv. I have been using wireless connection for some time, but now that i can, i would like to use the wired connection.

My problem is that the tv literally won’t recognize that there is an ethernet cable plugged in at all. When i have the choice between wired and wireless, i click wired and it tells me to plug in an ethernet cable. However, i have and it simply doesnt pick up on it. I have tried using different cables and i hear the click on both ends when i plug it in. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

sounds like a faulty port ... check the port if its collected dust or has damages

The port looks fine. No damage or dust whatsoever. The tv is fairly new - about 1 year old

Try reboot router and switch if have one.

My Samsung Tv generally is ok with lan connection but sometimes it takes a bit to connect after turning it on. If im being impatient when that happens i reboot the router and it connects right away.

I wager the wall jack is not active as you assume it is.
