Solved! Samsung TV is dropping HDMI signal from PC after a few hours powered off

Hello! I just bought a Samsung smart TV and managed to get my computer hooked up to it with a VGA to HDMI cable. Works fine until I power down the television for a few hours. But when I start it back up again, it doesn't recognize the PC, telling me to check my cables and make sure the device is on.

I've checked both – cables are seated and power is on. The TV stubbornly refuses to register the PC until I reboot the computer. The computer doesn't go into sleep mode – I've turned that off – and I've set the video card not to go into any low power modes, either.

Not sure what else to do! Any ideas?

Solution
That could be because of VGA to HDMI signal conversion.
Doesn't your pc have HDMI output? I'd try that, if available.
Or you could try DVI to HDMI cable - this would not require signal conversion either.

Solution

Maybe u should. Feels like its wants sequence: TV on, then PC on.

Be aware of DVI types DVI-I, DVI-D, DVI-A.
