In the windows settings (windows 10) when I change to any resolution above 1920x1080 it will show in the "active resolution signal" 3840x2160 and in the desktop resolution it will show the resolution you chose. however on my tv the resolution will also stick to the same resolution as the active resolution signal. By the way my tv is 4k I tried everything my tv resolution just wont change to anything between 1920x1080 to 3840x2160. Please help thanks.

Either that, or the TV will only handle 1080p and derivatives. 1440p is a derivative of HD, 720p not Full HD, 1080p. It's a TV, not a monitor, there is a difference in pixel association.
