Satellite a200 out of box restore

Tried to restore my satellite a200, vista, to out of box factory settings but it has failed. I get the message saying to put in the windows installation disc, so put in the recovery disc as i dont have a windows disc but it doesnt seem to work. The laptop just turns itself off??
