I have a Schientific Atlanta Explorer 8300 HD. It is getting hung when it starts to boot (i.e. "BOOT" appears on the display after you turn it on, but then disappears after approx. 15-30 seconds, but the PVR never actually comes completely up. I have tried suggestions from other sources (i.e. warm boot, hard boot, completely disconnecting everything and waiting for 24 hours or so, then re-hooking and trying to re-boot). I have checked the power outlet, the cable source (hooked it up to my TV and everything worked just fine, but of course would like to get the 8300 HD back up and running, as it is only 2.5 years old and paid approx. $500 for it). We have also though about somehow doing a firmware update using a flash drive, but do not have the info on this so far. Any help would really be appreciated!! Thanks!
