SD card reader not responding

Hi! I have an Acer Aspire 7551-3650 laptop, and just in the last few days it has stopped recognizing an SDHC card when it is inserted in the SD slot. I went to the Acer website and downloaded the latest card reader, but that did not help. I would have thought it was a problem with this model not recognizing an SDHC card, but it has been able to read it without any problem up until now. Any suggestions would be most welcome!

Try to uninstall USB Root Hubs under device manager. Then restart, see how it works.

Thanks! Actually, after searching for solutions and trying almost everything possible to solve this problem, I think it is now "fixed" - I just blew into the slot a few times, quite forcefully, in case there was any dust/hair in it, and it then was able to read the card (and I could download my pictures!) Amazing that something so simple could do the trick.

ha ha ha... dust... yes it worked for me... I blew hard and inserted again... it got recognized...
