SD card storage

I have option to move apps to SD card, but
it's grayed out.
Even the ones I dl'd with the exception of 3( I managed to move those) don't show it in black.
Anything special I need to do?
This an LG Venice using 4.0.4.

Do you have an SD card in it?

If it is greyed it it either does not have one fitted ... or it is not recognised.

It's recognized bc it's scanned by my AV every time I boot it up.
Also, three of my dl'd apps were moved to it, but none of the others I've tried will do so with the button greyed out.
