Seagate 5TB not spinning

Hi All,

I recently bought a 5tb external hard drive from amazon and had a power surge now the hard drive isnt spinning i am presuming the PCB board has been fried. So am looking for a new PCB board with the following specs as i know you need the board to be exactly the same.

PCB number 100721570 REV E
FW: CC44
ST5000DM000

If anyone could help it would be appreciated.

If it's an external drive, have you tested whether it works within a PC? It may be just the SATA-USB board.

Replacing the PCB is usually quite a long way down the list of things to try. Do you have a multimeter?

Hi I have removed it from the external casing and no joy when plugged into a pc i dont have a multimeter but looking to order one..

There is no sound or anything coming from the drive no clicking

Have the same problem with the same model of hard drive and PCB . I will dont buy from these company anymore.

This was the same PCB - PCB number 100721570 REV E

So now no power and I've have it outside is external case directly sata connection no power.
