Sharp Aquos "crashing"

I have a Sharp Aquos 37" LCD TV (37GD6U). Every now and then I can turn it
on, the blue "on" light illuminates, and nothing else happens. The unit is
unresponsive to either the remote or the buttons on the set itself. I can
get it to work if I unplug the unit, wait awhile and plug it back in. This
usually corrects the problem. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there any
easy solution (aside from sending it back?)

Request service from and authorized Sharp service company. Symptom of
intermittent lockup.

One other thing...what's your source?

The typical source is an HD Tivo using the HDMI cable w/ separate analog
audio. However, during the crashes, the unit is completely unresponsive, and
I can't watch any other source, such as the antenna (digital coax) or
computer (DVI + audio).

I've only had this problem when powering up the unit.

I don't know if this is a coincidence or not, but my problem went away once
I switched power strips. I found a battery backed power strip on sale at
Radio Shack for $40. Once I switched the Aquos's plug to that strip, the
crashing problem vanished. It has been several months and no problems. You
might want to give it a shot.

I have been looking at the 37D models. What happens when you do either a
partial or full reset?
