Sharp TV HDMI problem

I have a Sharp LC-70LE550U and after connecting various devices via HDMI some are recognized by the TV and some are not. Those that are recognized (i.e., Apple TV3) are recognized on each of the four HDMI ports and those that are not (i.e. Google Chromcast) are not recognized by any of the HDMI ports. My old Scientific Atlanta Explorer cable box is recognized but my new Samsung box is not, so I have to resort to component cables. I've tried installing new Sharp firmware, have reset the TV to original factory settings, tried a different Google Chromecast, tried a different Samsung cable box, spoke with Sharp technical support & they couldn't figure it out.

I forgot to say that I have tried a variety of HDMI cables on the chance that that was the problem.
