Hi there!

I got a few questions regarding my phone upgrade.

I'm highly considering buying the Samsung Galaxy S5. I'm an android power user, been away for a year because of a lumia (had the lg optimus 2x) but in the android game again now.

I'm looking to use the stock ROM for a while then rooting it (may do at once) then install a custom ROM - is it possible to root and unlock bootloader yet?

Is the phone good quality and recommended? Water and dustproof is a goooood addition, so is the fingerprint sensor - but the fingerprint sensor is not the main reason for choosing this phone

Thanks for help!

Erik

I am like you - I have an HTC One and I run stock Cyanogenmod and stuff.

The whole process is easier and better on a Nexus phone. The Nexus 5 is an excellent phone, and the camera is nearly on par with my iPhone 5S (I compared them side by side). There are at least a tenfold more ROMs for the Nexus.

It doesn't have waterproofing, and the camera isn't as good on the Nexus, but for the price and the stock android experience, you cannot beat it...

Yeah, I will - but what with the ROM and all that?
