Should I get the Cannon Rebel T3i?

I'm thinking of buying the Cannon Rebel T3i that comes with (Kit w/ EF-S IS II 18-55mm Lens) for 540$. Is this a good deal?
I want a camera that shoots great video mainly because that's what I'll be using it for most of the time. Is this a good choice of camera for video? My budget is 600$ so this price fits my budget well,any thoughts on this?

So your saying it's not a good deal with the lense? I'm getting it on ebay.

I don't buy camera/lens from ebay, and you can check the review for the lens. http/www.dpreview.com/lensreviews/canon_18-55_3p5-5p6_is_c16/5

But if you can find the deal and just make sure the seller has good rated and the t3i is not from gray market. Most of them (seller) from NYC or NJ sell the gray market camera/lens. Gray market goods have no factory warranty, and receive no customer support.

It may be a good choice if you don't mind the 30 minute (4GB) limit per clip.

You might want to find Magic Lantern firmware, which adds loads of video camera functionality to specific DSLR’s: http/wiki.magiclantern.fm/faq#what_is_it
The firmware is available for the T3i. "The Magic Lantern firmware is distributed with NO WARRANTY and NO GUARANTEES are provided. It might work. It might not. It hasn't destroyed any cameras yet, but who knows."

Hi I'm new here and I'm a photographer so I figured I pay my way forward some by sharing what I know in a few threads.

IF that is the high end of your budget save it. Get a used Rebel. I believe the T2i was the first with video. I would shoot a pro gig with a 5 year old rebel if I needed to. No Problem. All Rebels are good at what they do. There are quirks as other mentioned such as recording limits and things like that. Those things will not bother you as you learn on one. Save the money on the body put it into lens. That rule is LAW for photographers who know.
