Should I get the Corsair sp2500?

I'm new to higher end audio. I have a Sharp cd-es777 now and it's ok, though the bass isn't well defined, and they're not really made for pc speakers. I have them in a bookcase behind me which probably isn't the best position. The sp2500s seem to be getting good reviews. Are they worth the money, or is there something else better? I like a good amount of bass as long as it is concise and not muddy.

Also, will a 5th generation ipod touch or a 5th generation ipod classic have a good enough sound chip?

Thanks,
Bryan

Two things: the sp2500 is 232 watts (that is alot)
secondly, the subwoofer is massive (about 18" x 10" x 12")

I bought this system and didn't realize the sheer size of the subwoofer and had to return it. be sure you want something this big before you buy.

Thanks, turns out that the area under my desk is 18 inches wide. Lucky me

I have the Corsair SP2500 and to be honest they take a bit to get the best out of them. Some people complain that they are muddy but found this video review which shows whats going on: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pbPzbTIDK54
I think you really need to have an equaliser in the mix to get the best sound.
