Should I upgrade my sound card if im using DTS over optical ?

I have an older Sounblaster XFi PciE card. it works just fine in Windows 10. I use the optical out to stream DTS to my receiver and prefer this hookup in the future. Simply , is there any advantage to upgrading to a newer card like the Asus Strix , or being a digital signal out , is it not going to make a difference what card I have.

not going to make much of a difference as long as quality is good and you are having no driver issues. if your receiver has hdmi you should be using that instead though (out of your video card) as its higher quality.
