I have a 75" 2 yer old Sony TV, Martin Logan Speakers and a Marantz receiver. We have a cable connection and use apps to watch news and TV. The Martin Logan speakers have been distorting to the point where I thought they were blown. ML sent new ones and the problem persisted. I'm thinking this is a problem with cabling or the receiver. The speakers are rated for 100 watts each which is well beyond the receivers capacity.
Also, I am also getting really tired of using multiple apps on the TV, Comcast box, and on the receiver. Its just too much.
I'm looking for recommendations for a receiver that just does the audio. Running the HDMI's through the receiver just complicates the heck out of the system and seems unnecessary. Is there a setup where the Audio and video just goes from the Cable box to the TV and the sound is passed through to the receiver for audio.
