Skype turning it's own volume up in volume mixer (Win7)

Why does this keep happening, I always turn individual programs down since my headphones are quite loud, but skype always seems tu turn it's self back up again and everytime somebody calls me I get a mini heart attack

I've never heard of this problem before... I don't know how to fix it, so I'm just going to generically recommend that you max out the individual volumes for each program then lower the master volume altogether

Can you go to Control Panel -> Sound -> Right-click Speakers -> Properties -> Enhancements and see if "Loudness Equalization" (Or other options) is enabled? If it is then disable it.

Did you check if Skype has any options in it's own settings?

As with the other responders, I've never heard of this.

Everything there is disabled.

Also the system sound bar seems to go up too, since I'm pretty sure I've been turning it down quite often.

Well, now that I'm aware of this I'll try to check it regularly to find out the cause at least, and write the findings here.

Through Skype, go to Tools -> Audio settings -> Uncheck "Automatically adjust speaker settings"
