Slim notebook bag?

I am looking for a slim bag for a thin 14" notebook. It should contain
just the notebook, the power adapter and maybe a few cables, but most
companies offer huge and heavy bags with lots of space for books, paper
etc. as well. I end up spending several hundred euros more for a
notebook that weighs a few hundred grams less, and then I am forced to
buy a bag that doubles the laptop's weight (or worse). Another trouble
is that most bags are made for 15" notebooks that are up to 5cm thick,
while mine will be 14" and less than 3cm thick. There do not seem to be
tailored bags any more not even for brands like IBM and Apple (I had one
for the old plastic PowerBook). Cc to my email is acknowledged. Guido

I was looking for something similar. The closest I found was a
Samsonite L35. Your notebook sound a bit smaller than mine though, so
the smaller but thicker L25 might be worth a look.

There used to be a company that made really cool form fitting neoprene
"skin" type cases for notebooks, but I don't think they're around any
more. I guess people like really big bags...

The Pouch is alive and well:

http://www.thepouch.com/

Each of their pouches is a custom fit for a specific model of notebook. I
have several of them. They also make pouches for cellphones, MP3 players,
etc.

I don't think I would make a habit of carrying around a notebook in just a
Pouch unless I was being pretty careful with it. It's something like 1/8"
neoprene and doesn't provide a lot of padding. But they're handy if you want
to protect a machine inside a larger bag or briefcase.

One tip: There's a pocket on the side of the Pouch for power supply, cables,
etc. Make sure the bottom of the notebook faces this side, not the top, so
these gadgets don't press against the middle of the LCD.

I've been using the "insert" from my backpack Data Case. It's ok for my
usage, and it's easy. When I don't want/need the whole backpack, I slip out
the insert and away I go. The AC Adapter just sort of sits in there with
the laptop, so it's not a secure or possibly even save way to go, but for
me it works. I'm looking for the case information:

Mine came from Office Depot in the US, and just looking for the web site -
looks like it's been discontinued down from $150 USD to $30. if it's in
stock any longer.

You're right in that slim cases are hard to come by any more - not even
Mobile Planet is offering many options.

I'm also interested in a slim case.
