I need a replacement usb to micro usb cable for my nexus 7,2012 edition. The stock cable was broken by someone, and I need a new one, type b micro usb. I've tried other ones laying around but they just seem to slide out, the official adapter seemed to lock in.

I have never had an issue with connectivity with any micro USB cable for my 2012 Nexus 7. I have USB cables from various devices that I basically use interchangeably. The USB cables are from a HTC phone, 1st gen Droid phone, Logitech mouse, 2nd gen Amazon Kindle, etc. I have no issues with loose connections for any of them.

However, I will save that the Amazon USB cable is the worse because after about 18 months the rubber started to crack off. It's still useable, but the inter-weaving shielding wires are now exposed.

I get the genuine samsung ones. They are stiff but I have some that are 3 years old and not 1 issue with them. Plus I like the bevelled micro end so I know which way is which without having to find my glasses. LMAO
