Sony Cd Player issues

:idea: Hello,
I have a Sony HCD - RX66. 3 disc shelf stereo. When you put a cd in it spins a little bit the laser tries to read and then it says 'no disc'
I replaced the laser pickup, but I'm wondering about the spindle motor. It has a bit of a burnt smell and won't spin more than a second. Anyone have any ideas. Please help. 8O :idea: :idea:

generally with these things it is best just to replace the whole transport. You will have to weigh the cost of the repair to see if it is worth it. I am actually suprised that you were able to replace the laser head by itself!
