Hi,
I have bought a second hand Sony DCR HC19E camcorder just so that I can upload my miniDV tapes to the cloud. However, despite downloading Sony's Play Memories, I can still not get the camera to talk to my PC and laptop running Windows 10, or an older laptop running Windows 7. In fact none of the machines even register the device on file explorer. Anybody else having these problems, or can offer advice on where i'm going wrong. The camera appears to be working properly and I don't have the CD that would have come with the camera when new.

Many thanks for your help.

Steve

Solution
How are you connecting the camcorder? Seems it has a firewire cable, using that?

Also read this about the supported OS https://www.sony-asia.com/electroni...inidv-camcorders/dcr-hc19e/downloads/Y0015166

Not Supported:
  • The USB streaming feature is not supported with the Windows 7 operating system.
If the camcorder is not seen on the system and Firewire does not work, you would need to use an XP computer or use a video capture card and use that to record the video on a computer.
