sony handycam hdr-cx330 not saving settings

I have two sony handycams and niether of them save settings after i take the battery out and replace it. For example i set it to auto focus, and 60p and when i switch out the battery it switch's back to the default setting of manual focus and and 60i. This is pretty annoying is there anyway to switch this?

Do you need to set the date and time as well or does it just lose those particular settings?
