Solved! Sony tuners truble shooting

Hello,
Hi, I have a sony tuner. we listen to music on it all the time for the past 4 years... no problems. Untill last night I hooked up an i pad . It ran great for an hour and then wanted to tweek the bass and treble, when i touched the button to tweek the music turned off and the didplay scrolled PROTECT.. any ideas of what that might be?

It may be something as simple as you static-shocking your stereo. Try unplugging the power cord from the wall for 10 minutes - that ought to reset it. Otherwise there is a hold-down command in your manual for resetting the micro (a pair of keys you hit simultaneously).
