Sony Vaio Blue Screen and Full C Drive

Hi, just wondering if anyone could help my with my three year old Sony Vaio Pro 13. Every time I turn it on for a bit it then freezes and blue screens. Message is either 'kernel inpage data error' or 'critical process died'. Recently downgraded back to Windows 8.1 from Windows 10, but that didn't seem to be the cause of the problem. Also recently started showing that my Local Disk Drive has only 5.7 GB free out of 118 GB (SSD), when I have essentially no files on my laptop (all are saved to an external drive).

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help.
- Start by doing a complete virus/malware scan. Please do try these article for tools and guides.

- Once done do run a RAM and HDD test just to make sure that everything is up and running properly.
- If all these will not work last resort would be to run a clean install of Windows 10 or 8.
