Solved! Sony Vaio E Series Laptop - Black Screen

All of a sudden, my Sony Vaio E Series screen went black. If connected to an external monitor, it will display on the external.

Laptop screen is black, but the backlight is working, so its illuminated, just black.

I've tried pulling the battery, holding down the power button for a couple minutes, etc. nothing.

tried swapping ram positions, nothing.

Tried resetting the PC, but once it started it rebooted and now i cant get a display on the external monitor.

Please, for the love of all things holy, help.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Since it works on the external monitor I would say either the ribbon cable that connects the monitor to the motherboard is loose or damaged, or the display itself is and need replacing.

If the laptop is under warranty, contact the manufacturer about a repair or replacement.

If not, then it is up to you if you wish to try and do the work yourself or hire someone.
