Hello!

I have just ordered myself a Sony Vaio S 13.3'' notebook. (Custom)
And I was wondering two things, is the ''Vaio Display Premium'' an IPS-panel or is it just a standard TN-panel.

And the other thing, I chose the regular S13 not the S13A and if I go to the build-it-yourself thing, the 13A costs more already with the same specs more or less, is this something to do with the panel or build quality?

And again since i customized my own, I chose the 1600x900 Vaio Premium Display which is the same as the one in the premium model.

So here is the specs of the premium model priced at 907 GBP
(also customized to the same specs as mine)

Processor: Intel® CoreTM i5-3230M, 2,6GHz
OS: Windows 8
RAM: 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3L-SDRAM
HDD/SSD: Seriell ATA på 320GB (5400rpm)
Screen: 33,7cm LED 1600x900+camera ''Vaio Premium Display''
Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 640M LE
Optical Bay: DVD Disc-station
Battery: Standard battery
and backlit keyboard
Carbon fiber

And here is the regular customized I have ordered priced at 772 GBP

Processor: Intel i5-3230m, 2,6Ghz
RAM: 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3L-SDRAM
HDD/SSD: Seriell ATA på 320GB (5400rpm)
Screen: 33,7cm LED 1600x900+camera ''Vaio Premium Display''
Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 640M LE
Optical Bay: DVD Disc-station
Battery: Standard battery
Magnesium
and Backlit keyboard

I get that the S13A has a carbon fiber finish, but compared to the magnesium, is it really worth 135 £ ?

Basically my two questions are as follows:

Is the Vaio Premium Display IPS or TN?

And why is the S13A so much more expensive natively? (I'm guessing the carbon fibre)

I bought this from Sony Norway so I just translated the prices to GBP

As always, I am very grateful for your answers! :D
