Sony vavio laptop screen dont turn on receiving only power

hello i have sony vaio PCG-3A1M everything is working but my screen is like this " http://postimg.org/image/q11ocj7fv/ " please can you help me?

Screen is dead. Can be due to the backlight going out, or the powerboard to the backlight. They can be hard to fix, I would recommend to fix the laptop if it is newer, or toss the whole thing if it is older.
