[citation][nom]soky602[/nom]unemployed? Get a job, losers can't be choosers. Full time student? Then keep your head in the books, your in the wrong website if your trying to save money. Its probably people like you who try's to save money by buying copied games that software companies make crappy games cause they don't have the cash to make a good one.[/citation]

you know what, you are an ass. i have been unemployed for 2 yrs now and not by choice. i am a senior it manager and database manager and i cant get a job to save my life. mcdonalds say i am too risky, and in my field i cost too much. we are in a very bad economy and recession. so say whatever you like, but dont go with this get a job shit. especially for students who are already trying to better themselves getting a degree that may be worthless in time.

^^ i appreciate the costs of producing the games, but if u are saying that people who cant afford them shouldnt have them, then u would accept that there are no sales being made therefore what difference does piracy make but to enable those who wouldnt have bought the game a chance to play if its offline then that can represent their loss for not being able to afford the software in its proper state.
im poor, i lost my job 2 days before being diagnosed with crohns and atm no one will hire me etc cry cry, i cant afford any games atm and am not buying them, nor am i pirating any, im simply going without.
the group i think that can be defined as the loss of sales group are the people who can afford the games but choose to pirate them.

just seems to be a lot of "well im not poor and i can get these so i dont see why anyone else should get a free ride", some of u should consider that your whole life is a free ride compared to some peoples lives.

1) Sorry to hear you have chrons. I got ulcerative colitis myself and it isn't fun... It didn't stop me from finding a job though, but everyone is different I guess. America is hit harder by the recession than we are here in Europe, so I'm not blaming you.

2) A lot of pirates could easily afford to buy their games, but don't do so. They want to spend their money elsewhere or are simply too greedy.

3) Those who really are too poor shouldn't be playing games. Not everyone can afford luxury goods, that's a simple fact in a capitalist economy. That doesn't give you the right to steal these goods, period. It's a moral issue, not just a sales argument.

The question is, who exactly loses what, in case he (a guy, who can't afford to buy it / or wouldn't by it no matter what even if he couldn't get it for free) plays a pirated copy.

In days, when Sony was losing money on hardware, I'd have concerns. But not now.

I do not condone piracy or thieves in general in any way. seriously question the right of Sony (or any console owner) to control what happens to their product once a consumer buys it. Someone OWNS a ps3. Someone SELLS a usb stick. Someone BUYS the usb stick. Sorry if that bugs you Sony but to bad. Why doesn't Sony try and get an injunction to prevent the sale of the Xbox 350 and wii? They both hurt Sony profits as well.

thats a total cop out. "I cost to much to work", are you kidding me? Offer your services up cheap idiot. 1/2 pay better than no pay. McDonnals says your high risk, now that really sounds like a flat out lie.

If you could POSSIBLY justify piracy it would be for low quality and no return possibility if you are unsatisfied with the product. Despite the fact that there is a rental market for you to test/play games that doesnt mean the current system of refusing returns on opened product is right. Hey SONY/NINTENDO/MICROSOFT, it is MUCH easier to download the game than to go to walmart, go home, install game, go back to walmart, return product. We already know you will zap the key when it gets used again.

[citation][nom]cj_online[/nom]I already paid for the hefty priced console itself + a few games (Renting costs more than buying the whole game itself... I don't keep upgrading every month or so... I stick to a game for a while)An unemployed full time student will indeed struggle to pay for the supposed "latest and greatest".[/citation]

An unemployed person has an income crisis to resolve. Gaming/entertainment and other time wasters that perpetuate unemployment do not a job-holder make.

I know it's useless to feed the trolls but whatever...

To the tired argument of "pirates would've never bought the game to begin with." That might be correct. BUT, how many games does a pirate play in his/her lifetime? How many pirates are there? I hope you honestly don't believe that out of all those copies, there would not have been a single sale made. No, it's not 1:1. It's probably not even 10:1. But it's far from zero and if that was YOUR livelihood, it would hurt bad.

And those of you complaining about the bad economy making it impossible to get employment. I sympathize with you, I really do. Not being able to find work sucks. BUT, if that's your situation, you have no excuse to be stealing games still. We're not talking food and shelter here. You don't NEED games.

Look, I can't afford things either. I can't afford a house right now. There seem to be plenty of empty ones across the country that won't sell in the foreseeable future. But you don't see me taking one over even though it wouldn't hurt anyone because I wouldn't have paid for it anyway and no one's ever going to buy the one I'd pick.

The game developers making games for the PS3 are getting exactly what they deserve. They are making horrible ports from the 360 and just moving it over to the PS3. We all know that every single game coming out can look better on the PS3 but the developers fail. Well just for that once I get this I am not going to buy a PS3 game again. I will steal it and be proud of it.

If you can't afford to pay for video games I suggest getting a new hobby. Sure games are not cheap, but you can't expect a company to spend millions on a game and sell it for nothing. If that was the case there would be no games to play or consoles to play them on. That's just my 2 cents worth.

[citation][nom]cj_online[/nom]Piss off... I certainly don't fancy paying $64.99 for each damn game... especially if it has no multiplayer... sure I'll manage to pay for those that have mp, but the solo games.. I definitely am not gonna shell out that much cash..Not everyone is filthy rich you know?Besides, piracy... for the most part is legal (as long as it's not for commercial use..where I live anyways)[/citation]

You're right, not everyone is filthy rich. But the fact that you can't afford to buy games doesn't entitle you to steal them. No matter how you might justify it to yourself, you're nothing more than a thief.

I was hoping something like this would come out to bring Other os back, you know the feature sony STOLE from it's customers. I don't condone piracy so maybe 2.0 version of this will be useful(for bringing back what we had).If someone made a dongle to bring back ps2 compatibility on the slim all you piracy balkers would be buying one to play your old games. I doubt that would ever be made, just showing you an example of fanboi hypocrisy :).Maybe when the other os lawsuit gets settled when can have an injunction against sony for taking features away!

No rational person expects a company to invest resources in gaming software and sell it for nothing.

What I do see is a definite difference in gaming quality for the same $60.00 that every new PS3 game sells for. I do not agree with this part of the sales process.

Some examples come to mind for me...
1 - Software "ported" between platforms tends to be generally lacking in quality at-best.
2 - Not all games are created equal: Compare a game like HAWX to Final Fantasy 13. They are a universe apart in the gaming experience, but they cost the same to purchase new. Having played both, HAWX should have been a $10.00 game at launch (by comparison in quality and length).

You don't need to burn a blu-ray disk to play pirated/backed up games. The major appeal to hacking the PS3 is to allow games to be played from the hard-drive.

Not everyone who mods their systems is out to steal games. Some just want to convenience to do what they want with their own property.

People here is talking how bad piracy is, but i bet my as* they have at least a software, mp3 or a movie which is coming from the piracy, so shut the **** up you hypocrites.
I have tons of downloaded mp3's ( have just few worthy albums that i've bought), i download every movie that comes out and every single software on my pc is pirated, even my windows 7.
You can call me whatever you want, i don't give a ****, at least i'm not a hypocrite as you.
In this f'd up world the least normal people could do is getting their hands on everything that could be for free, so thank you piracy.
Taxes are raising every day, prices of everything are raising too, do you think it's because of piracy?
No, it's because of filthy rich people, who wants more and more, that's it, piracy has nothing to do with the fact that a game costs 60 bucks.

And your one of the AHDD fucks that is nearly ruining gaming. I'll take a great SP experience over the shitty MP all developers make now.
