Sound card for CS:GO?

Hey guys, I have been searching the web a little bit about sound cards vs onboard.
Some say onboards are really great nowadays, and you do not need a specific sound card, others state the opposite.

I was hoping some of you could help shed some light on the subject.
My interest is gaming (Counter Strike: Global Offensive), I am going to watch series and listen to music once in a while as well. But the game takes priority.

I am using the headset Sennheiser Game Zero.
My motherboard is ASUS H81I-PLUS.

Please let me know if you need more information about my setup.

I am looking forward for some helpful answers/discussions.

I don't see the need for one unless you do professional audio work. You'll be able to hear footsteps perfectly fine with onboard audio. If you are unsatisfied, then get a sound card, but frankly it's not necessary.
