Space Bar key suddenly not working

Machine: Dell Inspiron 1464
I had left my laptop on standby for a long time ( more than 6 hours ). I have kept it longer and never such problems were observed.

Problem:

1. Won't boot without pressing a key and also shows OS options. I have only one OS : WIN7 ULTIMATE. Earlier it used to boot straight away.

2. A error sound when desktop loads, and the cursor starts running madly in the search box in start menu, won't stop unless press backspace.

3. Space Bar key no longer working.

4. Tried reinstalling keyboard driver, no help.

if you get into windows run security scans. if not you may have to do a clean install of windows to help solve the problems

Already ran a security scan with Malwarebytes. No issues.

If I plug in an external keyboard, it works. But I don't want to use the external keyboard.
