speaker connectivity from TV

I want to connect my Samsung LED to a usb speaker to keep the speakers at a 10ft distance. I bought a 3.5mm male-female cable and a cable which is 3.5mm male and usb female. When connected to the TV headphone the speakers are not working... please suggest how to connect

You can't connect a USB speaker to an analog audio output regardless of the cables. USB is digital. There is no way to connect them (even if your TV has a USB there are no drivers in the TV to make that work either). You need a speaker with an analog input or a bluetooth speaker and transmitter.
