So I am looking to upgrade my current desktop audio system (Klipsch Promedia 2.1) and I have been playing around with many ideas. My first thought was to upgrade to the Aduioengine A5+ and add the S8 woofer later. Then I realized the sound card on my laptop is junk (and may be why the sound from my current speakers is lacking) so it would effect the glorious sound of the speakers. So I did some research and a way around a bad laptop sound card is a DAC. For example, the Audioengine D1 USB/Optical DAC. My question is would it increase sound quality if I added the DAC to my current Klipsch Promedia 2.1's or should I go for the Audioengine A5+'s, add a sub + DAC later. Any thoughts?

Ps. Price isnt much of an issue here, I want quality audio.
